2013 Citi Golf

The very first Wolfsburg Project build (a Volkswagen Citi Golf) that was done for Vdub Camp Festival.
The vehicle winner was Toni Tumelo from Kagiso, Krugersdorp.

A different vehicle is given away to one lucky supporter at each event that takes place on the first weekend of February every year.

Visit our next show and you could be handed the keys to the next Wolfsburg car.

2014 Caddy

This year offered a gorgeous Caddy on air ride with imported original 15″ Wolfrace Slots – Anniversary Edition from Wheels & More to add to the retro look of the build. The wheels were widened by TWS for that extra exclusivity.

The interior is overhauled and changed into a burnt tan and black leather colour combination by Checkkoast Productions. The exterior has a unique patterned paintwork that has enthusiasts amazed. Accessories and audio-visual are enhanced by Autostyle Motorsport and Kimos Custom respectively.

Special mention must be made of the Wolfsburg Edition dimple golf ball gearknob, Wolfsburg door pins, original BBS front spoiler and F1-X tail piece that make the entire Wolfsburg recipe extraordinary.

The lucky supporter who was given the car keys was Dries Van Zyl from Rustenburg, North West Province.

2015 Bay-window Kombi

The official signing and handover of keys was done at Soweto Volkswagen.

Johathan Moletsane from the West Rand in Gauteng was ecstatic to take possession of the prize.

He attended Camp Fest 2015 with only 1 ticket and when his wristband number was announced on stage it took him several seconds to believe what he was hearing.

The total prize value stands at R165 000.00. Prospective car collectors out there should not be too keen on making him an offer for it though, he is highly unlikely to part ways with this one-of-a-kind prize anytime soon.

The Wolfsburg project gets better every year so be sure to attend the next Camp Fest event and you might just be the next Wolfsburg owner!

2016 Caravelle VR6

2017 Millennium Beetle

The 2017 Wolfsburg vehicle winner was Charissa Fourie from Johannesburg.

This Millenium Beetle had tartan style decals around the exterior and interior. The customising was kept minimal in a “less is more” theme and the flat face Radi8 – R8A10 wheels wrapped in neat stamped rubber from Racing Hart Concepts achieved this objective.

The top class air ride suspension from ART complemented the desired flush fitment look. Tweaking by means of Deriam Engineering adapters and NAF Air Ride modifications as well as a clean boot install was an excellent finish to the Bug package.

The original VW engine was unaltered and the original black leather seats were kept in the interior to encourage the OEM element of the Wolfsburg project.

2018 Golf 6

This winner was Muhammed Prince from the East Rand in Johannesburg.

The MK6 Golf had a custom space black and gold flake paint job by Euro Projektz.
An OEM seat swop and MK7 R style headlights added a unique finish to the build. The customising was kept minimal in a “less is more” theme in line with the current preferred customizing era. Different wheel designs were fitted and changed three times until the perfect look and fitment was found to complement the desired Wolfsburg feel.

The air ride suspension gave the build the aggressive stance needed for the Vdub Camp Fest and worldwide VAG audience and a clean boot install was a good finish to the MK6 package.

Drews Auto, Osram as well as Autostyle Motorsport played a pivotal role in presenting a formidable Wolfsburg Edition giveaway car this year.

2019 Twin Citi Golfs

The most recent chapter of Vdub Camp Festival had the organizing committee asking themselves “How does one continue to up the game from already outstanding previous shows?”
Every year the Wolfsburg Edition prize car improves and it seemed the only way to beat the previous year’s amazing MK6 project was to go old school, but, double or nothing!
Given that it is the 11th Camp Fest motorshow anniversary it was perfect to go with the number “11” as the theme… the result being the popular hashtag “EditionDoubleOne”.
How this tied in with the project car selection was by means of 2 x Mk1 Citi Golfs.
Good Citi specimens were searched for high and low over a two month period and once secured were aptly dubbed “The Twins”.
The double project build then commenced and the team behind the Wolfsburg Edition concept deciding to spice things up by giving one Citi a retro look and the other a contemporary look.
Both cars ultimately came out of the customization process looking incredibly funky and public hype around the prize was remarkable.
The success of this campaign was largely due to the commitment of Awol Customs in Randburg and Evolution Wheels & Tyres in Booysens for ensuring that enhancements on the cars were period correct.
To make a statement that the giveaway prize was one of a kind, both cars would be won by one winner, something that organizers don’t think has ever happened elsewhere in the country and possibly in the world. In the end the festival live draw was exceptionally emotional for the crowd and dictated that the keys landed in the hands of Mosala Sehloho from Welkom.

2020 EOS

After roughly 4 months of searching for Mk2 GTi Golfs, the big bumper versions also known as jumbo or 2020 Golfs, none where found in a reasonable enough condition to be outstanding prize builds for the high standards at Vdub Camp Fest.
There is also not sufficient time between annual shows to completely gut a poor condition car and restore it from the ground up.
A decision was made to opt for a more modern model for the 2k20 Wolfsburg Edition giveaway car prize to be modified and customized.

We’ll let the pictures below do the talking about the EOS build that was won by Ronald Khoza. He visited Camp Fest 2k20 by taking a drive to Bela Bela with a friend from Bronkhorstspruit. He bought a few entry tickets and thought he was dreaming when his wristband number was called out to claim the giveaway car.

A huge thank you to Evolution Wheels in Booysens and Awol Customs in Randburg for powering the project build!
There aren’t many better things in life than a drop top rolling on air ride with wheels that fit perfectly

2022 Golf 7

The 2021 motorshow was sadly delayed to 2022 due to Covid restrictions on all events.
This means that supporters waited a while for the giveaway of this amazing Bluemotion Golf MK7 Highline.
The ultimate winner was Luey Reddy from the East Rand in Gauteng. After the announcing of his winning wristband numbers it took him a while to realize that he was not being pranked and was ecstatic to receive the keys of his prize.

A huge thank you to the vehicle sponsors Evolution Wheel & Tyre for a perfect match of the Gen2 Tiguan wheels for some OEM plus flavour, with Accelera tyres as well as the lowered suspension to give the build a super aggressive look.
Autostyle Motorsport participated in getting the car in top condition with rear and front spoilers, lighting upgrades and several accessories for the new owner to enjoy.
Appreciation also goes out to Insane Racing and Street ready Motorsport for the outstanding performance enhancement and adding some lovely pops & bangs for the new owner.

The build is extremely nippy on the roads and we trust that it brings many happy smiles to the new driver.

The winner of the amazing prize is Kierahn Antonie from Centurion, Johannesburg.

The vehicle has been fitted with a sporty set of Vossen 18″ wheels wrapped in brand new Landsail rubber.
The wheels boast a custom paint colour change from Streamline Auto with a protruding original silver spoke facade for unique character and a subtle break of the monochrome colour scheme effect.

The car was also fitted with a set of JOM coilover suspension for some static lows to compliment the build. The motor features some enhanced hardware bits and a software upgrade from the one and only QT Performance center in Johannesburg.
The interior has OEM upholstery for maximum comfort while the exterior features the traditional Wolfsburg decals on a Soapy Rides’ polished and detailed white body.
The recent project builds have adopted a #LessIsMore approach to keep vehicle give-aways as clean and simple as possible.
She packs a good Kilowatt punch on the roads and supporters are already looking forward to the next Wolfsburg prize car.

The new owner will hopefully grow a deep bond with a car that has such a unique heritage and history.
